Buying Books to Fight Depression

Do you remember hearing the book title Confessions of a shopaholic by  Sophie Kinsella ? I haven’t read the book but I believe it is a story about a person who can't stop herself from shopping...
Thorn Birds
Yesterday I found myself in such a state…After a long day in office,I was itching to buy books. If you look back at my book hunting tales written in the blog, you can see how I used to raid first hand book shops and second hand book shops in Bangalore. But thanks to JustBooks Library in Bangalore, I had cut down a lot of my expenses…and has remained patient enough to wait for my coveted books to be available in the library to be borrowed. If that is difficult, I would buy books online through Flipkart and dutifully wait for my parcel to arrive by courier...

But some things don’t go away…and yesterday I was hopping happily to Reliance Timeout next to my office. I could only grab two books before the shop sales people threw me out of the shop as it was their closing time…

I managed to grab The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough and Complete Collection of Jane Austen. I was sure I wanted to buy The Thorn Birds, but I was a bit hesitant about buying Jane Austen owing to its small print…Anyway I grabbed it though I am not sure if I will ever touch that book in the near future..Somehow wanted a Jane Austen collection in my book collection …Then the point of yesterday’s shopping was to buy….And I can never describe the happiness and satisfaction I felt after my purchase…Just a bit tempted to get up from my office desk and grab something more…
The Complete Novels of Jane Austen
I started with The Thorn Birds the moment I reached my room and kept on reading until I slept off and picked it up as soon I woke up.  There was no other day in recent times when I wanted to bunk office and read a book…I really felt that…But then forced myself to come off…waiting to get back and get hold of it…

I believe many of you would have felt the same like what I felt…but I am very much curious to know which book made you feel like bunking college/school/ office..I would love to know the name of the book and if the book disappoint you after the whole excitement…Please do let me know..
