This Could Happen to Anyone

I had a conversation with a friend last day. She is around 35 and a mother of two.

Her: "You know I picked up a book from library last day. It is having a lot of good reviews".

Me: "What is the book title?"

Her: "It is called 'Fifty Shades of Grey'."

Me: Hmmmmpphh...

(After 5 seconds delay....)

Me: "So did you like it?"

Her: "No, I haven't started. I heard it is a good book.  It is supposed to be on NewYork best seller
list".

Me: "Hmmmmphh. Do you have any idea about what that book about?"

Her: "No. What is it about ?"

Me: "Well, it is a sort of M & B kind of book. That is erotica fiction. But it is supposed to be good. Lots of good reviews".

(A slight tinge of embarrassment appears on her face. But then she manages to hide it well. :) I am not sure on this part entirely.)

Her: "Okaaaaayyy..."

Conversation over.

Disclaimer: I have nothing against people who read M&B or Fifty Shades...Actually I am yet to decide if I should read it if I get a chance...This post is just about picking a book impulsively :) And I do that a lot you know..

  1. Ha ha ha! I am not going to read '50 shades of grey' though it is so talked about. But I have read more than 100 M&B in the past (read during teens). Don't judge me!

    2. Yes. I think so. I am thinking about how I judge others with the books I find them reading! Good reality check.

    1. So have you read it? I think there should be a way to tag your name so that people will know when they get replies to their comments...Or is it already there?
